Tax havens today occupy a central place on the political scene and in the world economy: with 32 trillion dollars (twice the debt of the United States), they represent enormous financial capital. That money belongs to wealthy individuals or large firms seeking to avoid certain constraining financial regulations or to lower their tax bill.

From Singapore to Delaware, from Panama to the British Virgin Islands, from the City of London to the Cayman Islands, from Luxembourg to the Netherlands, Paolo Woods and Gabriele Galimberti have brought together three years of photographs capturing the secret backstage world of tax havens. Lifting the veil on an unknown and often fantasized reality, they present a very special take on the subject, one far removed from sandy beaches and coconut palms, in the process composing new reference points for these singular places.
